Training schedule

The principle of teaching at the Tiger-Dragon Fight Gym is the following:

Your most natural position throughout the day is a stand-up position, therefore striking is the most natural medium of combat in this position. You may however be involuntarily taken down to the ground or voluntarily take someone down to the ground and engage on the ground with the objectives to subdue your opponent or prevent submission of yourself.

However, your principle objective is to know just enough take-down and ground work principles to guarantee your return to a stand-up fighting position, where you can enjoy the luxury of choice to continue to fight or to retreat whichever one ensures your survival.

Though the fallacy says that ninety percent of all fights go to the ground, it is your duty to prevent that, as in the street you do not enjoy the padded floors and protection of a controlled environment as in a fighting gym, therefore you could be victim to chronic disability due to severe injury.

In a street fight when you are down on the ground the fight normally turns into a soccer match, with your head as a soccer ball. This must be prevented at all cost.

At the Tiger-Dragon Fight Gym, we pitch the teaching for the street and accommodate the sport. We do not teach for the sport and accommodate the street.

The above fighting philosophy is applied in our Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighting schedule, as we teach for the street and accommodate the sport, not the other way around. We believe strongly that you must first develop solid striking experience before engaging in the development of your skills of physical manipulation and submission.
